Satan was the first one to commit this grave sin and God dealt with Satan and the sin of pride. We have seen a many a good Preacher fall by the way side because of this sin and we have saw many a Church just sit there doing nothing at all for the Lord because of this sin called PRIDE.
It's all about me , me , me, I, I , I. And what letter do we find right in the middle of PRIDE? It's the letter " I ."
Proverbs 8:13 " The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way , and the froward mouth, do I hate. "
This is why I have aksed the question, DO YOU FEAR GOD?
So we can see the meaning of Pride centers around, " I ", "Me", "Myself ." as the little saying goes, " Me, Myself and I ."
This is what Satan said:
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
You see that, it's all about " I ".
I will allow God to be God. Where have I heard that before?
In Proverbs 6: 16-19 What is the very first Sin God list that He hates? " A Proud Look " If the Holy Spirit list that sin fist, than it must be a very severe sin.
"Thus says the Lord: 'In this manner I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem. This evil people who refuse to hear My words, who walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing'…. Hear and give ear: do not be proud, for the Lord has spoken….But if you will not hear it, my soul will weep in secret for your pride;" (Jer 13: 9,10,15,16)
Now if any of you out there who doesn't think God deals with those who have a prideful spirit you had better think again.
God brings His Judgment and if you are not willing to sit up and take notice than expect more judgment from God.
Pride is the sin that caused the Pharisees to reject Jesus as their Messiah and crucify Him instead. Pride is the sin of the church of Laodicea that led to their incredible blindness. What a horrible sin is this thing then which turns angels into devils, rejects God's servants, spurns all admonitions, puts Truth Incarnate on a cross, and leads one into a completely false estimation of themselves! How we need to give heed to the apostolic injunction:
"Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall." (1Cor 10: 12).
