I apologize if I am not posting this in the right section or if it has been addressed before.
I noticed in your Statement of Faith, that you describe Baptism and Communion as "Ordinances" that do NOT convey grace. Presumably, this is in response to the Catholic teaching on the sacraments?
I was hoping someone might be able to explain this concept further as it is the first time I've heard it put this way. If Baptism and Communion do not convey grace, then what's the point of doing them? Is it just a hoop God wants us to jump through because he said so?
Do you celebrate Communion every week? What does it do for you when you celebrate it? Do you just do it out of a sense of obligation because God said so? Do you get anything out of it?
Sorry, that's a lot of questions! I tend to ask many questions in the hopes of increasing the chances that I correctly convey what I am hoping to learn!
