Even the most-devout Christian fighting in WW2 didn't try to preach to a nazi shooting at him, but more than one Christian POW led more than one camp guard & more than one other POW to CHRIST. I learned my lesson when I was called upon to witness to a CHILD MOLESTER, whose sins are as abhorrent to me as any sin man can commit! This man CAME TO CHRIST, & I believe he is just-as-saved as i am. Yes, he was punished for his sins & crimes; he was on his way to prison when I was called upon, to spend several years in solitary confinement for his own protection from other inmates. And his punishment is ongoing in a way; he is a permanent "registered sex offender" who must check in with local authorities periodically, is subject to scrutiny & spying, bust live "on the dodge" from two of his vics who are now grown men & have sworn revenge. BUT AGAIN I BELIEVE HE IS JUST-AS-SAVED AS ANY OF US! There is only ONE salvation-the COMPLETE salvation from hell by JESUS CHRIST. There is no purgatory or halfway house Either one is saved or isn't. I believe God both wanted to offer that man a chance for salvation AND remind me that salvation is open to all mortal men.
