CJ,

A question, if I may: Are you are proponent of Hyper-dispensationalism? Otherwise known as the Pauline gospel? Just curious

Why do you ask her that question? The Sermon on the Mount is a dispensational quirk directed at the Jews in the Millennium. The Kingdom of Heaven is not a Christian deal it is a Jewish thing.During the entire Sermon on the Mount there is no reference to the Church, the new birth, the body of Christ, the death, burial, and resurrection , or the " Kingdom of God."

Add to all of that,,,
we see the word Raca, which is a Jewish word directed at the Jews. But we see Paul calling someone " Fools " in Romans 1:22....as I said the Book will mess some people up for sure.

Lets look at verse 5:19...

Mat 5:19

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. and 5:3; 5:10,11

No Christian under grace is under the LAW in the Kingdom of Heaven. There is a difference between the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God. Many don't know that and that's why they get some teachings screwed up. Lets be fair here I don't want anyone saying I'm a know it all. The commandment mentioned here is one of the Ten Commandments which will judge all those who aren't saved in the end. ( John 5: 45-47; and 12:48) Now when the NT shows up with the local Church, epistles and the New Testament Christian saved under grace, when they do show up the Sabbath is missing and we are warned against obsering it. ( Rom. 13:8-10, Col. 2:14-16). What we do find is the First day being used as a worship day ( Sunday); ( Acts 20:7, 1 Cor.16:1,2) The Sabbath was a sign given to " Israel" and unknow to anyone before Exodus 12:6. It concerns Israel only. The Christian is asked to observe two commandments ( Rom.13:8-10) which will enable him to observe seven more; but the Sabbath is not one of them. Paul and Jesus are careful to omit it when talking of righteousness ( Luke 18:20, Rom. 13:8-10)

There is so much more to cover here. But if you go back a read the Sermon on the Mount again with this thought in mind you may see what I'm talking about.

When are we to love our enemies and who are these enemies? The only time you can find out who your enemies are is to find out, and most of the time they are found on a battle feild and we are told by our Government to kill them. ( Rom. 13:1-6) and we are to obey the powers that be.....so once again we see this is not direct at us but to the Jews, in the Millennium.

and then we have " Father " and we all know that no one is the Father but only to Israel (Ex. 4:22-23, Deut. 32:6,18, Isa.46:3)
