Wanderer, I love your posts, but apparently you've picked up a false doc along the way, as indicated by your mention of "Laodicea". The "Seven Church Ages" doctrine is phony as a football bat, having been spread in England by Darby, and in the USA by a KNOWN CHARLATAN, William Marrion Branham.

While not ad bad as some other false dox, it IS still false, and we Christians have no business promoting falsehoods in any way.

Otherwise, your post is excellent, as usual for you. (Good pertinent Scriptures, Art!)
Thanks Steel, I am glad you are able to pick up on what I'm saying. And while I am aware of the seven church age doctrine, I use laodicea not so much in that sense, as in the sense that is an example of a church that has become lukewarm, lulled by the deceitfulness of the worldly ways around it and in it.

You know Steel, when i was a teenager and still in the Catholic church, i remember reading that letter to the laodiceans in an old bible that was at our home, and i remember it shook me to my core, because it so decisively stated that one must be 100% for Christ, there can be no fence sitting, no equivocation, no lukewarm-ness. All or nothing.

Sadly, there ARE churches of the type Jesus described when he directed John to send letters to those 7 churches, including one in Laodicea. But again, you have hit the nail on the head about being all for CHRIST.
