A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:31-35)

I know that none of us ever fulfill this commandment of Jesus perfectly. I fail to always treat my brothers and sisters with love, so does my brother Art, and so do all of you. But dont you think we could all try a little harder? It seems like we are all too ready to devour one another, instead of showing a little mercy, extending a little grace. I'm not saying that we should stand by and say nothing when we encounter heresey or apostasy, but when we try to correct a brother or sister, are we doing so with a humble spirit, with gentleness and respect? Are we treating people in the manner we wish to be treated? And when we are reproved by a brother or sister, are we listening in humility and a spirit ready to receive, and to ask forgiveness of those we have offended?

Why dont we all get down of our high horses and quit worrying about our pride? Jesus has no regard for, nor use for either one. Cant we try to fulfill His commandment, and show those without that we are Christians because we love one another?

Love,
Wendy
