Of course, this whole herectical mess comes from taking scripture that applies to Jews waiting for the kingdom of heaven and forcing them upon the church. Example:
I've heard of this one. A few years ago a guy named Zane Hodges wrote a book called "Absolutely Free". Zane Hodges is one of the guys that John MacArthur sharped iron with over the whole "Lordship Salvation" debate. And he writes about "Carnal Christians" suffering for 1,000 years in hell. Is that wrong? Yes, it's wrong... John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. That means there's no more sacrifice for sin. What would a thousand years in hell accomplish that the blood of Jesus didn't? And what does anybody go to hell for a thousand years for? To pay for what? Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. So... It's totally messed up like a lot of things Zane Hodges wrote. (He passed away this year.) Read, "The Gospel According To Jesus" by John MacArthur to hear the truth in this debate. Zane Hodges was an "antinomian". (Against the law.) Any law. Live however you want. You're saved. We are not saved by what we do but if we are saved we live a life that obeys and shows it with good works and obiedience. 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Not good works to get saved. Good works because you are saved. Jesus as LORD. Not just "Saviour". Zane Hodges wrote feircely against that idea. He taught that a simple "belief" in facts about Jesus saved you and, after that, it was in no way necessary to live in obedience to Christ, obey Him as Lord, do His work, repent of ungodly life styles or sin. Just... "Believe" and you're saved. (Not true. Even demons "believe", James 2:19, it doesn't save them.) If you walked down an aisle to "accept Jesus as your Saviour" then for all eternity, no matter how you live after that... You are saved. That ain't what the Bible says. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Salvation comes by acknowledging what Jesus is... Lord. Not good works to get saved. Good works because you are saved. Jesus as LORD. Not just "Saviour".
In the "falling away" (2 Thessalonians 2:3), this has messed us up for over a hundred years by bringing into the Church thousands of so called "Christians" who are not truely saved. They are deceived because they did not truely accept the TRUE Jesus of the Bible. They accepted Santa Claus who gave them everything then doesn't mind if they go back to willfull, hedonistic, sin and disobedience. The Jesus of the Bible taught repentance... Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Jesus taught giving up our old sinful lives...
Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. But once someone is saved they will obey. They will not continue in will full sin. Zane Hodges needed to explain the "carnal Christian". The ones that are packing the twenty first century church. Can just continue to be fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, or extortioners, and still expect the glories of heaven? Not according to the Bible... 1 Corinthians 6:8-11 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Yes, that talking about those before salvation but we certainly don't go back after we are saved... Romans 6:14-16 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? It's like Bob Dylan used to sing, "You gotta serve somebody." Not good works to get saved. Good works because you are saved. Jesus as LORD. Not just "Saviour". 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. And the great deception preached from the pulpits and the TVs and the former basketball coliseums is that you can step on up, get your free lottery ticket (and every one's a winner), and then just go back to living like you always did. You're saved. These last days stink with that lie.
