Tronport,
Quote:
I'm not sure I understand exactly why the absolute truth of the word of an omnipotent being (god) would need to be preached by anyone? Wouldn't such truth be self-evident to everyone, and as such need no one to preach it?
Such truth is self evident.
Quote:
Romans 1:19-20 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

What this is telling you is that it is self evident. Verse 21 goes on though
Quote:
Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
This tells us that you choose in your heart not to know, and not to want to know. No one is without excuse Tronport, not even you.
Quote:
If god wants all humans to believe in him, why did he not simply make such knowledge inherent to/in us? Seems to me it would have saved a great deal of trouble
I explained this above. But I sense a different question about in this. God has given us free will, the ability to choose Him or rejet Him. That is why He doesn't force us to love Him. Forced love is not love.
Quote:
If Jesus died on the cross for all our sins, then why are there still sinners? If you blame that on the devil, I remind you that (according to Christian faith) god created all things, including the devil.
God created the devil with the same free choice, free will that you and I have. God created the devil good (aka Lucifer), the devil chose to sin against God.

Now, onto your misconception about sin and Jesus. Yes, Jesus died for our sins. What this means is, He died so that we might be forgiven of our sins, not to make us stop sinning. We are in a fallen world. In order to stop sinning, we will need to have our glorified, sin free bodies that aren't bound to a sin nature.
