Hey guys,
Interesting discussion.

I am one of those KJ onlyers who does NOT believe that Jesus Christ was eternally the Son of God.

the term "Son of God" is connected to God being manifest in the flesh.

Psalm 2:7 states "I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."

Notice "THIS DAY have I begotten thee."
There were no days in eternity.
Genesis 1:5 tells us "And the evening and the morning were the FIRST DAY."

Again in Hebrews:
Heb 1:5 "For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?"

Again, the author of Hebrews, quoting Psalm 2, says "THIS DAY have I begotten thee."

And applying the promise of Solomon in 2 Samuel 7 to Christ, the author of Hebrews says "I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to me a Son."

Notice the future tense: "he SHALL BE" a son.
Christ was not a son until his birth in a body of flesh.

Luke 1:35 "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."

Notice again "that HOLY THING which shall be born of thee shall be called the SON OF GOD."

It's the HOLY THING that is called the SON OF GOD.
Only the King James points this out. all the other versions get
this wrong.
The HOLY THING is referring to the BODY of Christ.

Jesus Christ is not called the Son of God until He is GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH. THAT HOLY THING. A BODY of FLESH (Hebrews 10:5; Romans 8:3; 1 Peter 2:24)

Notice how this doctrine comes together in John 1:18 and Micah 5:2

John 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, begotten in TIME, not in eternity according to Psalm 2:7.
Jesus has ALWAYS been GOD from EVERLASTING according to Micah 5:2.

The NASV and the Jehovah's Witness NWT both change John 1:18 to say "only begotten GOD!"

Jesus Christ is the only begotten SON!
He has NOT always been the Son of God, just as He has NOT always had a body of flesh.

"That HOLY THING which shall be born of thee shall be called the SON OF GOD."

But He has ALWAYS been GOD!

These truths are only illuminated in a King James Bible.
They are hidden in all the new versions.
