Hi all,

I've been away for a while, and find it very interesting to see how this issue has progressed here since I last posted. There seems to be much confusion and misunderstanding going on, so here's some facts:

- this issue started on this board when Shain1611 quoted Bob L. Ross as saying "Many "King James Onlyites" believe that Jesus is the "Son of God" because of His being incarnated in the flesh, whereas Baptists and "creedal Christianity" (Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians, etc.) hold that He is the ETERNAL Son of God and that He is the "Son of Man" by the incarnation."
- Shain1611 called Mr. Ross's claim "a lie from the pits of hell".
- I then replied that Mr. Ross was correct (many KJV-only supporters believe Jesus was not "Son" until his incarnation) and claimed I believed I had info on Ruckman and Riplinger on this issue. Shain1611 challenged me on this.
- I provided many quotes from the Aug, Sep and Oct 2002 editions of Ruckman's "Bible Believers' Bulletin" showing where they explicity deny that Jesus was the "Son" before his incarnation.
- Neither I, nor Mr. Ross, have claimed that they denied Christ's deity. We are referring only to the denial of "eternal Sonship". We're not the ones putting up strawmen here.
- Shain1611 now seems to be adopting and defending Ruckman's and others' rejection of eternal Sonship (proving Mr. Ross was in fact correct), just a couple of weeks after saying Mr. Ross' claim was "a lie from the pits of hell".
- the term "begotten" is a related, but distinct, issue. It can refer to Jesus' birth, resurrection, or relation to the Father, depending on context.
- this is not an attack on the KJV, or on KJV-only supporters. This a defense of orthodox doctrine.

Prov 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
