Although we do not at present have any copy of the Septuagint that would date from before the time of Christ, we find that various evidence points to this being fact, and that the LXX cannot have been invented by Origen, including:

1. That Josephus speaks about the making of the Septuagint in Book 12 the second chapter. Josephus died not long after the Apostle John died.

2. That Josephus mentions things in relation to the unreliable letter of Aristeas, which must have existed before 70 A.D. This was long before Origen was born.

Therefore, it should not be surprising that one day we might hear some of Septuagint fragments being discovered which are dated to B.C.
