A King James Bible person who thinks the English is superior is hardly going to be moved by a supposed meaning of a word said to be Hebrew.

Is God a destroyer?
1. God has made the curse, the consequence of not obeying His law. "But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile" (Romans 2:8, 9).
2. God has set up agents to carry out the curse, such as devils. "Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy." (Isaiah 54:16).
3. Jehovah personally carries out acts of vengence, as shall Christ at Armageddon. "The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath." (Psalm 110:5).

As a protector of Jehovah's name, I am certain that God's destructions are not against me in the day when He shall be jealous for His holy name (see the word "name" in the context of Ezekiel 39 and Isaiah 63. Look at Eze. 39:15 and Isa. 63:2 to see the meaning of "Redbone").
