This whole discussion is "coocoo", knowing full well ya DO NOT know the exact meaning of the Hebrew.

Besides that, several species of cuckoo found in Palestine resemble other birds for which they could be mistaken if not observed closely.

Also, the 'cuckow' is listed among a series of raptors, owls, hawks, etc., so the Hebrew could be referring to any one of a number of common raptors. It's clear that all raptors & almost all insectivorous birds are non-kosher.

At best, 'cuckow' is a guess.
