Holy Bible:It is their policy not to debate the King James Bible Issue.

That's cuz they'd LOSE.

That is their prerogative.

[/b]Yerp! Just showz they have no answers.[/b]

They are Fundamental Baptists. That means they assumed they would all be KJB men of God.

I, too, am a Fundamental Baptist. My pastor knows, as I do, that KJVO was NOT originally a parta Fundamentalism; it was only introduced LATER. early Fundies, such as W. B. riley, didn't accept it.

W. B. Riley stated in his book "The Menace of Modernism" (New York: Christian Alliance, 1917), there were a group of men whom he describes as the "old conception," who believed the Authorized Version or King James Bible was inerrant. He states on page 11,
Quote:
"On this point we are inclined to think that, even unto comparatively recent years, such a theory has been entertained."
He then ascribes this belief to ignorance, and says,
Quote:
"I think it would be accepted without fear of successful controversy that such fogies in Biblical knowledge are few, and their funerals are nigh at hand."
He then says on page 13,
Quote:
"To claim, therefore, inerrancy for the King James Version...is to claim inerrancy for men who never professed it for themselves..."

W.B. Riley was a Fundie preacher on a par with Spurgeon. He was friends with W. J. Bryan & took up the mantle of anti-evolution at bryan's 1925 death.

Riley died in 1947, before the CURRENT KJVO myth was born. But his principle was right on.

They asked the question of which of the two are the Final Authority.AV or TR?

leaving no room for any other answer. Again, some of those schools who are NOT KJVO prolly dismissed the email as coming from some wing nut & not worth answering.

Whether a school is KJB only or not, they should have replied just to be reasonable.

I agree!

However I have had some posters take months to answer any of my emails if ever and some I consider to be regularly conversant with me on sites.
Some are just too busy and others get the email lost by deleting too fast.

I have 3 email sites; one is exclusively for business, is not public, so anything not biz-related, I dump w/o reading. they mighta done the same, except on a public site, they shoulda at least read it.

Also, just as the dudes/dudettes at that KJVO site have no stomach for debate, those at some non-KJVO schools might not have any, either.

Just for the record, I joined that site & asked its admin, "Lukasaurus", if he wantedta discuss/debate KJVO with me & he emphatically said, "NO", so I left as I'd promised I'd do if he/they had no heart for honest discussion.
