Steelmaker,
Obviously you did not look at my chart very well, because there I show that there are clearly SEVEN MAJOR PURIFICATION EDITIONS of the King James Bible shown in the same colour, as well as other editions.
With all due respect, I believe you've simply gerrymandered the various tinkerings men have done with the KJV since it was first printed/sold, and divided it so as to come at seven editions. You know full well there were more than that.
I have not twisted evidence to make those charts, as you imply. The first represents my view based on Scrivener's book and my own research. The second chart is relating the first into the scheme of encompassing both historicist and futurist prophecy.
they were made mostly from conjecture and guesswork, with a fact tossed in here & there.
As for the seven Church age doctrine, you know that this type of thing has been taught by various sound Bible teachers.
No TRULY SOUND teacher has taught that garbage! And it IS garbage! Your chart is a copy of someone else's chart, with your additions. It's similar to those made by proselytes of Darby, Branham, etc. All of them vary on their dates, especially the "Philadelphia" age. But no matter WHEN any of ya date your Philly age, it includes the most destructive wars in history and the proliferation of almost all of today's cults...JW, LDS, Moonies, Wicca, B'Hai, etc. That's hardly a "God's Missionaries" age!
I think you might be confusing me with some who believes in the day-millennium doctrine, that says the Earth's history is going in seven 1000 year periods. I have not given that view at all.
No, I am not. I know full well where yer chart came from...the 7 churches Jesus names in Revelation. the proponents of the "church age" garbage have forgotten that ALL those churches existed AT THE SAME TIME, and Jesus had John send leters to each one of them at the same time. It takes no rocket science to see that all seven of these types of churches exist today. When Jesus addressed those seven that then existed, they were far from all the churches that then existed. He chose each one as a TYPE, as each one was well-known to the others. I'm sure the things he said to each one should be applied to those same types that exist today. There's absolutely NO SCRIPTURAL INDICATION that He was dividing this Age of Grace into 7 periods. This is a completely MAN-MADE notion, as is KJVO, and is just as false.
Several others have made similar charts, & I'm sure ya copied one of'em. They're all horse feathers.
As for Darby, I know nothing about him. And as for Branham, the man was a false teacher and I disagree with many things he said and did.
John Nelson Darby(1800-1882) didn't form the Plymouth Brethren; he joined them in 1827 & soon became their leader, shaping their beliefs & doctrines to those which they follow to this day. besides making a Bible version which is in effect, a one-man revision of the KJV, he invented the "dispensation" theory, which still flourishes within Christendom today. he believed there is a separate salvation for the Jews, which is in direct contradiction of many plain Scriptures, he stated that God sometimes punished Jesus for nothing during His earthly ministry, among other heresies he taught.
However, he DID expose other abuses & heresies among other churches, especially the Anglicans. trouble is, he introduced heresy of his own, "trading old heresy for new heresy".
The "church age" garbage is among his heresies.
As for Branham, other readers, he was William Marrion Branham.(1909-1965) His working career began as a professional boxer; he was "converted' in his late 20s & soon began to hold 'tent revivals'. he soon became affiliated with the apostate "Oneness Pentecostals" & largely followed their false doctrines in his preaching while he was conducting "healing campaigns" in the 30s & 40s.
As time passed, he became more heretical in his preaching, openly proclaiming that God, the One Personage, held the offices of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, same as a man can be father, son, grandfather at the same time. he also began to preach the apostasy of the "serpent seed" as preached today by Arnold Murray at the "Shepherd's Chapel". He claimed that baptizing in the name of "Father, Son, Holy Spirit" was wrong, again in direct contrast with Scripture, namely Jesus' "Great Commission" at the end of Matthew.
Among the false prophecies he made was that the USA would be destroyed in 1977.(
The Seven Church Ages
, P. 322)
He became the first big-time false teleminister, paving the war for Oral Roberts, etc. He almost-singlehandedly established the popularity of the Charismatic Movement. he also claimed to be a messenger from God, under Divine protection, as he found out when he'd triedta commit suicide. Apparently, however, he musta forgotten to pay his dues dec. 18, 1965; his car was struck head-on by one driven by a drunk driver; he died 6 days later.
Glad to see you realize he was a charla
You admit that I am a Christian. Thanks.
I have never said otherwise. However, someone has apparently filled your head with non-Christian stuff, much as Herbie Armstrong did to me.
Quote:As for Darby, I know nothing about him.
Holy Bible:
He is the supposed founder of the Pre-Trib Rapture theory.
Had many mystic friends and changed the Bible to suit his pre-trib Rapture theories.
The best book I read on him was from James H. Sightler.M.D.
Tittled A Testimony Founded Forever.
It seems that the Plymoth Brethren have been up to shinanigans, even to this day.
Meddling with the book.
The Plymouth Brethren movement was founded by one Benjamin Newton(1807-1899), an ex-Quaker. Soon after, darby joined it. To keep a long story short, darby and newton eventually parted ways, with Newton's group becoming the "open" brethren, Darby's group becoming the "closed" brethren, each distinguished by their association or lack of association with other Christian groups. Darby, of course, is much more better-known than Newton.
One of the worst of Plymouth Brethren heresies is that the sins of believers are not REAL sins!
Holy Bible
There is only one......
IN MANY VERSIONS.
