"My point is that because we have different interpretations of those scriptures, we must first come to an understanding on how to determine what is a correct and what is an incorrect interpretation."

I'd love to do that, but you are not talking about Scripture, you have been talking about philosophies. To interpret Scripture you need to interpret them with other Scriptures as God cannot lie and never contradicts himself. So then, give me Scriptures that you deem contradict my understanding of things, and I will tell you why those Scriptures don't and that is all we can really do. If I cannot come to an agreement with you and you can't with me according to the dictates of our own conscience, then we must leave it at that until we see God face to face and he will judge whose conscience is subject to the Truth.

"The answer is: Christ himself, the true Christ."

Exactly. He is the Word of God, and the Scriptures speak of him as they are his words, so then we have not been left in the dark here....so let's get to talking about what the Scriptures say instead of the creeds and orthodoxy shall we?

"Look at it this way: can a Mormon, who accepts "Christ" and uses NT scripture for his views but denies the deity of Christ and believes he is a created angel, be a member of that body? Why or why not? Can a Muslim, who accepts "Christ" and uses NT scripture for his views but believes Christ was just one purely human prophet of God in a long line of prophets, be a member of that body? Why or why not? Can a New Ager, who accepts "Christ" and uses NT scripture for his views but believes Christ is a "cosmic consciousness" that brings one an essence of peace, be a member of that body? Why or why not?"

I have answered all those questions Brian, but you do not like my answer for some reason. It is written,

1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

If we say that Jesus is just a man or angel and no more then we call him accursed, for that would make him a liar, as it is written....

Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

However, if any man speaks the truth about him, that he is the Lord, he speaks by the Holy Ghost. As for saying that he is a cosmic conciousness, they can't escape the judgment of Scriptures either for it is written...

2Jn 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

As I said before, the Bible has all the answers, and I am willing to search out and prove my answers with you in the Bible, but if you want to start digging into other things other than your own understanding and belief of what is written, I have not an ear for that.

"As a side note, I am still interested in hearing why you think it is wrong to have Mary referred to as "Virgin" (with a capital letter)."

My problem is not with a capital letter, it is with the title "the virgin" which denotes a perpetual or eternal virginity, which is utterly false and deceitful. Jesus is "the Lord" which even if I did not capitalize the L in Lord would denote the same honour. Many people in their statements of faith say that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, yet they do not realize what they are writing and I know that they don't mean it the same way the Catholics do. However, in the Anathasian and Nicene creeds they knew EXACTLY what they were saying, that Mary is "the Virgin" giving her honour as the "mother of God". Jesus was born of "a virgin" which is what the Scriptures say, not "the virgin" which is what Catholic dogma states, which as I have shown you is also in your creed.

I am not your teacher and only wish to share things with you that you may in turn try them by your own knowledge of the Lord. I really don't know any thing. Still learning and growing in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Praying for you and all men that you would also come to the knowledge of the truth and continue to grow in it. I am a sinner, but I have a hope that God through Jesus Christ our Lord will deliver me from my present situation of being a sinner and deliver me from this vile body and I thank him for this promise of eternal life. This is my faith that I share with all my brethren in the Lord who we patiently wait for. Jesus Christ IS come in the flesh.

Rom 8:22-25  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
