Most people look for an excuse to not attend Church and they don't need much.

So now, the next question is how does a Pastor go about trying to increase his Church attendance without selling his soul?

Well, we may differ in beliefs here Shain, but I don't think it's the job of the Pastor to increase Church attendance.  He should preach the Gospel as it is, and let God draw his sheep.  Jesus told his disciples if they wouldn't accept them to simply shake the dust off their shoes and leave.  He even said don't bothe taking your purse (wallet) with you (and that means they weren't to work a second job or finance their own way.... He expected tithes and offerings from believers to cover the bill).  He didn't tell them to offer them fried chicken dinners, Church programs or bingo nights.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Jas 2:24
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
