"Then why do so many Christians disagree on so many things? I know why. Do you?"
I told you why already. You're thinking carnal, not spiritual. I told you there is no universal catholic church here on this earth, but that the body of Christ, his True Church, is in heaven at the right hand of God. As men here on earth, we have been given the Scriptures as our universal faith, as our statement of faith, as our orthodox teaching, yet not all are led of the Spirit or walk in the Spirit and twist the Scriptures for their own agendas. Your question is basically why do we sin? Because we are men and do not always abide in Christ, and it is the pride of many that have caused these divisions for only by pride cometh contention, for they refuse to bow the knee to the Word of God.
"Do you claim to have "all truth" and that you are an infallible interpreter?"
No, but I am being led into all truth as the Son of God gives it to me by his Spirit. Again, you insist on me "misinterpreting" so why don't you discuss the Scriptures and teach me to interpret them rather than accusing me of misinterpretation without interpreting them for me? Is that because you know there is no other way to interpret than accepting the simple, plain, and open reading which is what I have been giving to you? You keep saying that I am giving you my private interpretations, yet how can you get more simple and plain than what the Scriptures are plainly telling you? You just refuse the simplicity that is in Christ Brian, and have exalted your mind above the mind of Christ....otherwise, tell me what John 16:13 says instead of asking foolish questions that gender strife.
"No, that was NOT my point AT ALL - in fact, quite the opposite. Give it some more thought."
You have already plainly stated that the Scriptures and the leading of the Spirit of Truth are not good enough, but that we need creeds and orthodoxy which have shown themselves to be erroneous already, to be in the Way. You want to change your story now? What is your point now?
I am not your teacher and only wish to share things with you that you may in turn try them by your own knowledge of the Lord. I really don't know any thing. Still learning and growing in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Praying for you and all men that you would also come to the knowledge of the truth and continue to grow in it. I am a sinner, but I have a hope that God through Jesus Christ our Lord will deliver me from my present situation of being a sinner and deliver me from this vile body and I thank him for this promise of eternal life. This is my faith that I share with all my brethren in the Lord who we patiently wait for. Jesus Christ IS come in the flesh.
Rom 8:22-25
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only
they,
but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption,
to
wit
, the redemption of our body. For
we
are
saved
by
hope
: but
hope
that is seen is not
hope
: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet
hope
for? But if we hope for that we see not,
then
do we with patience wait for
it.
