Jerry, you're missing the point and not answering my questions. I am not saying those who produced the Athanasian Creed are the exact same people who defined the NT canon. However, they are the same general group, i.e. the leaders of the early universal church. How do you know which were led by the Spirit, and which weren't? Why should you or I accept James or Jude as scripture, and not something else instead? How do you know the NT was guided by God and not just a fallible definition, since scripture itself doesn't define the canon?

Two men were each driving their car down a road. Both men agreed there was a speed limit. However, they were driving at different speeds. The first man said, "I am driving the speed limit and the other man is not because I understand the definition of the speed limit to be this...". The other man says, "I am driving the speed limit and the other man is not because I understand the definition of the speed limit to be this...". How can we know which man, if either, is actually driving the true speed limit?
