Br. Jer

In God's own Word, we find those early Christians in Acts going to God's Word to study and to search out if these things as so.

Act 17:11

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

First they " received the Word with all readiness of mind"  They had a burden to learn and seek the truth from the Word of God with a hungry mind, soul and heart. They went to the Word to see that what was being said about Jesus Christ was so. What were they searching for?

John 5:39 was the OT Scriptures in which they were searching to find out who Jesus Christ was. And who was he? And Jesus Christ told His own that the Holy Spirit will teach them and guide them...

Joh 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

We are also taught that it is the scriptures that teach us along with the Holy Spirit. Isa. 28: 10-16  Line upon line. Scripture with scripture.

When anyone or any one group goes away from the core teachings of Holy Scripture and do so against many years of sound Biblical teachings grounded on the Word of God only they do so at their own peril. It is extremely dangerous for anyone to go against the core teachings of Scripture and the Trinity is one of those core teachings. There was a time in my life that I would go nuts sometimes over these issues but I have learned that God will deal with these people when the time comes.

Our job is to teach and preach the truth from the Book as we know it to be so grounded only on that truth found only in scripture.  And let me add in scripture by being supported by more than one verse.  Amen and Amen
