Well said, Jerry.  I will have to have a look at your post later and let it sink in and think about it, but let me give a preliminary response.

I have no problem with Trinitarians using the word "person" to describe their point of view.  We think of the word "person" as a mortal, flesh and bone homosapien.  Yet I understand that its not what Trinitarians are saying.  They can stick with the word "person" and I will understand where they are coming from.  When I use the word "thingy" its more spoofing them because Trinitarians switch terms from "person" to "personages" to ..... Well, you get the idea.  I admit it's being a wise guy.  By me using that word (thingy) brings up negative vibes and you are right, I shouldn't phrase it that way. It wasn't meant to disrespect, but that's what happens nontheless.  It doesn't set the table for good discussion.  It immediately puts Trinitarians of the defensive, which is not good.

By using the word "person" I can understand that Trinitarians are not calling God a human being, although clearly Jesus was.  Trinitarians are not saying the HG and the Father are human beings.  I understand that and am fine with the term "person".  So if folks like Brian are upset at me for using the term "Thingy" I apologize.  My point is there is no need to call them "personages", "personalities" or even "entities".  I get the point.  I'm not accusing Trinitarians of thinking God is a person (in the sense that God is a homosapian).  I simply reject the notion that you can separate the three.

Furthermore, I understand that Trinitarians aren't really saying their are three Gods.  Again, that is just a spoof on my part.  I have been accused of denying that Jesus was God (which I believe) and denying the HG (and I believe it was God too), so I combat that with spoofing Trinitarians with since you  believe they are separate, then they are three Gods.  That WOULD be polytheism.  However, I do understand they are saying they are the same.  Yet separate.  Yet the same.  But still separate and distinct.  That I reject.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Jas 2:24
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
